Thailand’s national upstream company PTTEP is studying the potential reuse of the topsides and jackets of existing wellhead platforms that could help reduce the company’s carbon footprint and save money on future projects.
PTTEP is working on more than 60 research and development initiatives, including “main structure reuse”, which has an emphasis on reusing WHP topsides.
The company is also studying the process of reusing such platforms’ jackets, and the study’s results will be considered for standardising its future operations.
